Cookie Policy

Effective date: April 29, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Tactics Journal (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on tacticsjournal.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between visits — for example, that you are signed in. Cookies can be set by the site you are visiting (“first-party”) or by another domain whose code is loaded by the site (“third-party”).

Our approach

We use only essential and functional first-party cookies. We do not use:

  • Advertising cookies
  • Analytics cookies
  • Cross-site tracking cookies

Cookies we set

Cookie Type Purpose Duration
tj_session Essential Keeps you signed in after you authenticate via a sign-in link, one-time code, or Google. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Up to 30 days
tj_google_oauth Essential (security) CSRF protection during the Google sign-in redirect flow. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. 10 minutes; cleared automatically when sign-in completes
cookie-notice-dismissed Functional Remembers that you have dismissed the cookie notice so we don’t show it on every page. 90 days

The first two cookies are only set after you take an action that requires them (signing in or starting a Google sign-in). The third is set when you click “Got it” on the cookie notice.

Third-party services

When you sign in with Google, you are redirected to accounts.google.com, where Google may set its own cookies on its own domain. Those cookies are governed by Google’s privacy policy — we do not control or have access to them.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. Browser help pages:

If you block the tj_session cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
