Tactics Journal (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates tacticsjournal.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information we collect

Email address

When you subscribe or create an account, we collect your email address. We use your email to:

• Send you newsletter content (opinion posts and the Weekly Recap)
• Send sign-in links and one-time codes for account access
• Send account-related notifications

Account data

If you create an account, we store:

• Your email address
• Session information for keeping you signed in

If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) from Google as part of the OpenID Connect email and profile scopes. We store only your email address.

Planned Pro billing

Tactics Journal Pro is not for sale and no Paddle checkout is live. If Pro launches, Paddle will process payments as the merchant of record. Paddle will handle payment details. We will not store card numbers.

We expect to receive the account and subscription details needed to:

• match the Paddle payment to your account;
• set the right regional price from the Paddle billing country;
• grant your account its Pro access;
• handle renewals, cancellations, refunds, chargebacks, and failed payments; and
• send billing and service notices.

Reading Opinion or Research and using any offered chart or source-data download will not require Pro. We will not treat those reads or downloads as paid access.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services. Each link points to that service’s own privacy policy.

• Buttondown — Newsletter delivery and subscriber management. Buttondown’s privacy policy
• Resend — Transactional email delivery (sign-in links, one-time codes, account notifications). Resend’s privacy policy
• Google — Optional “Continue with Google” sign-in via Google Identity Services / OAuth 2.0. We only request the openid email profile scopes and do not access any other Google account data. Google’s privacy policy
• Cloudflare — Site hosting, edge computing, and database services (D1). Cloudflare’s privacy policy
• Paddle — Planned Pro billing and merchant-of-record services. Paddle is not processing a Tactics Journal checkout now. Paddle’s privacy policy

We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.

Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies. The cookies we set are:

Data retention

• Newsletter subscribers: Your email is stored for as long as you remain subscribed. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Account data: Stored for as long as your account is active. Contact us to request deletion.

Your rights

You may at any time:

• Unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in any email
• Sign out of your account to clear your session
• Request access, correction, or deletion of your account and data by contacting us at our contact page

Children’s privacy

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
