How I design training for my players without ever copying drills

David Garcia:

If you simply run the same collection of training drills over and over, you get stuck in the moment in time when those activities were helpful and never find new adaptations to training.

A coach should create their own method in relation to their players, and to create is to not copy. It’s as simple as that.

I do not think there is much value in simply copying this activity and applying it to your own practice because, in doing so, I robbed you of the process of creating it.

I would much rather show you the frameworks that go into this process so that you can do it yourself over and over again.

It’s through that iterative process that you develop your own line of thinking that is unique to you and your players.

That’s part of my motivation behind building a community for board.tacticsjournal.com. To see how other coaches train. But I agree fully with this; you can’t just copy and paste.
